Treatment Plant Construction
Northeast Remsco Construction constructs, upgrades and rehabilitates water and wastewater treatment facilities for public and private owners. Our work includes new process systems, plant expansions, rehabilitation of existing facilities, structural upgrades, mechanical equipment installation, process piping, bypass systems, deep excavations, concrete, piling and complex tie-ins within active operating plants.
NRC has delivered projects through design-build, CMAR/GMP and fixed-price delivery models. We understand the technical, operational and sequencing demands of treatment plant construction — particularly when facilities must remain online while work is underway.
Our teams are experienced in managing deep and wet excavations, congested existing facilities, shutdown coordination, temporary bypassing, major process upgrades, utility conflicts, equipment installation and quality control. We have also supported projects involving bypass flows exceeding 80 MGD, requiring detailed planning, coordination and execution.
Beyond water treatment
NRC’s treatment plant experience extends beyond traditional water and wastewater systems. We have constructed combined heat and power facilities, cogeneration systems and alternative energy systems that use digester gas or landfill gas to support facility operations.
These projects require coordination between civil, structural, mechanical, process and electrical scopes — and a contractor who understands how each component affects the performance of the overall facility.

Experience in PFAS treatment infrastructure
PFAS treatment is one of the most important and rapidly evolving areas of water infrastructure. As regulatory requirements advance and owners move from pilot programs to full-scale treatment systems, successful construction requires a contractor who understands the process, the equipment, the sequencing and the importance of maintaining plant operations.
NRC has been involved in PFAS-related treatment work from early project stages through construction. Our experience includes granular activated carbon systems, ion exchange resin systems and reverse osmosis applications, along with the civil, mechanical and process infrastructure required to support them.
PFAS treatment facilities often require large vessels, specialized piping, chemical systems, electrical integration, bypass planning, site constraints, shutdown coordination and careful sequencing within active plants. NRC brings the field experience and technical discipline needed to execute this work safely, accurately and with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
